IT’S NO SECRET OUR SHORELINES, WETLANDS & WATERWAYS ARE FACING MANY SERIOUS CHALLENGES!

Shifting environmental and weather patterns, invasive aquatic
species, increased development and human activity on our lakes, rivers and
streams are all factors that contribute to the growing problem of shoreline
erosion.

ShoreSox founder, Daniel Schaaf, knew this problem could be
solved in an environmentally responsible way. His interest in finding
natural methods to deal with shoreline erosion quickly
became his passion. ShoreSox was off and running.

Our search for an effective and environmentally responsible
solution to the problem of shoreline erosion included research and development
completed in cooperation with offices of the DNR, Watershed Districts and Land
& Water Offices.

Research, product development and field-testing took place
over an 8-year period. Our objective was to find natural, degradable
materials and product configurations that would not only halt and reverse
shoreline erosion
but would conform completely to the guidelines
of state and local governing agencies.

ShoreSox is also proud to be involved
in
creating a new cash crop
for farmers in the Midwest
. Cornstalks that had previously been
plowed under are now being harvested and processed to create the primary medium
for ShoreSox erosion control systems. Farmers have been able to double the value
of their per acre yield and even during drought years when corn yields are poor,
farmers have found a market for their crop with ShoreSox.
